UNPACKING PARLS AND TMJ DISEASES - RADIOLOGICAL DIAGNOSTIC CLARITY IN DAILY PRACTICE

• Periapical radiolucencies (PARLs) – are they always inflammatory?
• How to radiologically differentiate inflammatory lesions from other pathoses to mitigate the risk of misdiagnosis and delayed management, especially malignant lesions
• Contrasting the key radiologic features of dento-alveolar inflammatory lesions with those of other pathoses
• Radiological examination of the TMJ including OPGs, cone beam CT, multi-slice CT and MRIs. When, what and why?
• Common and less common TMJ diseases and a review of TMJ anatomy
